We are always working to increase product performance for our customers.
Our deep understanding of the raw materials we work with, and practical knowledge of the demands on elastomers, means that our material scientists can create the ideal compound for any specific product or situation.
At Superior we are able to develop and manufacture the majority of elastomer compounds used in most market sectors. Awareness of specific limitations on each elastomer is fundamental, in terms of both mechanical and chemical characteristics. The most relevant influential working criteria should then be carefully matched to elastomer parameters.
We are able to develop and provide a comprehensive range of elastomers specific for;
Water industry: WRAS, NSF, DVGW, KTW, ACS, KIWA, UL
Gas industry: EN549, EN682 compliance
Food and beverage industry: FDA, AAA, NSF51
Pharmaceutical: USP Class VI

Each elastomer type has a specific working temperature range, however this will be influenced by many factors: media compatibility, dynamic or static operation and seal design being several of these.
Superior offers a wide range of elastomer grades:
EPDM: Ethylene Propylene Terpolymers, compound names typically begin with EP
NBR: Acrylonitrile Butadiene (Nitrile), compound names typically begin with LN, MN, HN, WN, FN
HNBR: Hydrogenated Nitrile, compound names typically begin with TH
VMQ: Silicone, compound names typically begin with SIL
FVMQ: Fluorosilicone, compound names typically begin with FSIL
FKM: Fluorocarbon, compound names typically begin with VF/VP

Grades can be provided in a hardness range of 30 to 90 IRHD. Grades can be black or coloured (mineral filled). The choice of filler will however affect mechanical properties and approvals. Advice should be sought from the Material Science department on email@example.com or +44 (0)1202 854300.
